Antibiotic susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus with different degrees of biofilm formation

چکیده
Abstract Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common pathogens in biofilm-associated chronic infections. S. living within biofilms evades host immune response and more resistant to antibiotics than planktonic bacteria. In this study, we generated with low high levels biofilm formation using rbf (regulator formation) gene performed a BioTimer assay determine minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) minimal bactericidal (MBC) various types antibiotics. We showed that by had greater effect on MBC MIC, probably due different growth modes between Importantly, found for was much higher cells, but there little difference formation. These results suggest once formed, activity significantly reduced, regardless degree propose strains varying degrees may be useful evaluating anti-biofilm antimicrobial agents understanding antibiotic resistance mechanisms development.

Does biofilm formation have different pathways in Staphylococcus aureus?
Objective(s): Biofilm formation is one of the most important factors in the development of infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus. In this study, the expression levels of genes responsible for biofilm formation were studied in methicillin sensitive and methicillin resistant S. aureus.Materials and Methods: A total of 100 meticillin-r...

Background: The radiation emitted from electromagnetic fields (EMF) can cause biological effects on prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, including non-thermal effects. Objective: The present study evaluated the non-thermal effects of wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) operating at 2.4 GHz part of non-ionizing EMF on different pathogenic bacterial strains (Escherichia coli 0157H7, Staphylococcus aureu...

Antibiotic susceptibility of community-acquired Staphylococcus aureus.
55% of a sample of patients in a rural community, and 76% of a sample of patients and staff in the local district hospital were found to be nasal carriers for Staphylococcus aureus. The in vitro antibiotic susceptibility patterns of 46 strains of S. aureus isolated in nasal carriers as well as of 43 strains in community-acquired skin infections were characterised. High levels of resistance were...
متن کاملPhosphorylation of Staphylococcus aureus Protein-Tyrosine Kinase Affects the Function of Glucokinase and Biofilm Formation
Background: When Staphylococcus aureus is grown in the presence of high concentration of external glucose, this sugar is phosphorylated by glucokinase (glkA) to form glucose-6-phosphate. This product subsequently enters into anabolic phase, which favors biofilm formation. The presence of ROK (repressor protein, open reading frame, sugar kinase) motif, phosphate-1 and -2 sites, and tyrosine kina...
